EMS

Emergency Management Solutions was formed in the early part of 2005. Recognising that a great step forward had taken place with the passing of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 its founder decided that many people would require help and support to comply with the new responsibilities placed upon them by the Act. It specialises in providing close support to organisations wishing to enhance and take forward emergency preparedness.

Developing and Writing Plans – Case Study

The requirement

To produce a Recovery Plan based on Central Government guidelines in particular the National Recovery Plan Template and then create and facilitate a subsequent workshop for senior management.

The Client

This was a large Central Scotland area Council consisting of a population around 88,000 people.

The Solution

This required the creation of a plan using the template outlined in the national guidance but tailored to the Councils management structure and style. This was also produced in such a way that it could fit into the final version of a Strategic Coordinating Group level Recovery plan.

The second part of this solution was to design and develop a workshop that would introduce the concept of Recovery planning and the plan to the Council’s senior management team. This resulted, with amendments based on the workshop discussions, in the senior management team agreeing their role and responsibilities in the process and endorsing the further training requirement through out the Council.
